TeleCommunity Bandwidth Conference

August 20-21, 2001
Joe Thompson Conference Center, UT - Austin

NEW CONNECTIVITY CHOICES FOR TEXAS

Citizens and communities across Texas recognize the vital role of telecommunications connectivity for survival and success in this Information Age.  But local and government  leaders need accurate, timely information and resources to choose from rapidly changing bandwidth options.  This unique statewide conference brings together leaders from state and federal government, telecommunications industry, and local communities to explain and discuss the different bandwidth resources and support programs available for Texas communities during the coming year.   The audience will include Texas local and legislative leaders interested in improving telecommunications capability for regional economic development and social benefit, especially in rural and underserved areas.

In this practical workshop, experts will describe, clearly and simply, current bandwidth choices for Texas communities. They will explain capabilities, costs and conditions, including applicable subsidies, discounts and other funding assistance. Q&A sessions after each presentation will allow detailed answers for specific situations.
